What is Pharmacogenomics?

Pharmacogenomics is the study of how a person's genetic makeup influences their response to drugs. It combines pharmacology (the science of drugs) and genomics (the study of genes and their functions) to develop effective, safe medications and doses tailored to a person's genetic profile.

This field aims to optimize drug therapy, with the goal of ensuring maximum efficacy with minimal adverse effects, based on an individual's genetic makeup.
